Czech Inn Kavarna
Located in the popular residential area of Vinohrady and situated in a gorgeously renovated Art Nouveau building is the Czech Inn Kavarna Café & Bar. Belonging to the design hotel / hostel but open to the public, the bar is located on the ground floor and is in a large, beautiful oblong room with intricate ceiling moldings depicting grape vines, hops and instruments, motifs from what once was the King’s Vineyards, or Vinohrady. The detailing is exquisite and blends magically together with the modern elements of the bar such as the leather booths and the industrial floor. The interior is not the only reason why tourists and locals frequent the bar, the experienced staff is quick and very friendly, something that is often hard to come by in the city of a hundred spires. The bar offers a full bar plus 7 Czech beers on tap including Budvar 10, 12 and dark, Master (seasonal), Kozel dark, Gambrinus and Pilsner and a good selection of wines as well. And as if a good atmosphere and a well stocked bar weren’t enough, the Czech Inn Bar also provides entertainment, hosting fun Trivia nights every Monday night from 8-10 p.m. It is a 100 CZK fee per team (max 5 people) and the winner of the quiz night gets to keep all of the money. To get in the mood you may want to visit the bar for happy hour from 6-8 p.m. and secure your team a place to sit. Every Thursday the bar also hosts an Open Mic Night from 8-10 p.m. It is necessary to arrive early to secure a performing spot and an acoustic guitar is provided so you only need to bring your talented self. The Czech Inn Bar also features temporary wall art exhibitions from local artists and if you happen to get hungry, the Czech Inn Kavarna will order out for you from a local Italian restaurant.
